We rotate our lesson locations.
All ski lessons take place on Sundays, from 10 a.m. to noon. We cancel lessons if the temperature is -20 or lower, with windchill. Lessons may also be cancelled due to driving conditions or lack of snow.
Canmore nordic centre
We meet on the practice field, ready to ski at 10am sharp. The older groups like to travel some distance so be ready to go or risk missing your group! We reserve the group room upstairs in the day lodge, so feel free to use that space to stash your shoes and lunches during the lessons.
Pocaterra HUT - Peter Lougheed Provincial Park
Pocaterra trailhead is a beautiful spot with a wide stretch of flat trail right in front of the hut - perfect for our smallest bunny rabbit skiers. There are lunch tables and plumbed washrooms available for the public at this location.
Peter Lougheed Visitor Centre - Peter Lougheed Provincial Park
The Visitor Centre at Peter Lougheed Provincial Park is probably our busiest location. Many families spend some time warming up and socializing by the fire after the lessons are over.
Confederation park - Calgary
The Foothills Nordic Club manages snow making and grooming at Confederation Park Golf Course in Calgary. As part of that project they have built a ski park that our jackrabbits get to enjoy as well!
