If there’s one thing kids love doing, it’s playing outside.

That’s why at Bow Waters Jackrabbits, we make play the first priority. Learning how to do anything through play and with friends makes the journey that much more fun. We are an Active for Life club, laying the foundation for healthy and active kids.

Through play and the Bunnyrabbit and Jackrabbit programs, our club provides cross country ski lessons to young children (4-12) in the Canadian Rockies. We host our ski lessons at various locations within 1.5hrs of Calgary. The Canmore Nordic Centre is home to our skate ski lessons. The Pocaterra warming hut and the Peter Loughheed Visitor Centre share the classic ski lessons. When the conditions are right, we try to sneak in a ski playground session in Calgary.

We are a 100 per cent volunteer-run club, with coaching and support coming exclusively from the parents of our club’s skiers. This approach allows us to provide great value, by keeping registration fees low, while providing quality ski lessons. All our parent coaches are trained through the Cross Country Ski Canada Community Coaching development program. The club covers the training costs.

We’re a grassroots, community club, with a more-the-merrier approach to winter and outdoor activities. Please email the club if you have any questions or want to learn more.
